Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a hotel representative and transferred to your accommodation in the vibrant capital. Following breakfast at the hotel, you will embark on a scenic 5-hour drive to the breathtaking Nyungwe Forest, located in the southwest of Rwanda. This remarkable destination is home to over 300 bird species and a quarter of Africa's primate species, making it a haven for nature and wildlife enthusiasts. Nyungwe Forest offers unforgettable experiences, with the highlight being chimpanzee trekking. Guided by an expert, you'll venture into the heart of the forest to encounter a troop of these incredible primates in their natural habitat. Observing chimpanzees, our closest relatives, is a truly profound and humbling experience.
Another must-try activity is the canopy walk. Suspended on a rope bridge high above the forest floor, you'll gain a fresh perspective of Nyungwe’s lush landscapes. This morning, you will leave the enchanting Nyungwe Forest and embark on a scenic drive to the eastern shores of Lake Kivu, approximately three hours away. Nestled on the border of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lake Kivu is a serene retreat. It is home to vibrant fishing communities, the breathtaking Ndaba Falls, and offers opportunities for memorable activities, including boat rentals to explore nearby islands. After breakfast you will embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, home to the magnificent mountain gorillas. The journey will take approximately four hours, offering breathtaking views along the way. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to your comfortable accommodation, where you will receive a briefing for the gorilla trek planned for the following day.

Today begins with an early start as you head to the entrance of the national park, where you'll be assigned a group of gorillas to track. After meeting your guide and fellow trekkers, you'll embark on your adventure to find these incredible primates. The trek could take anywhere from 1 hour to 8 hours, depending on the gorillas' location and whether they're on the move. To ensure a comfortable experience, groups are formed based on fitness levels and how far each person is willing to trek

Following breakfast you will be transferred back to Kigali. Depending on your departure flight you can visit the Genocide Memorial and Education Centre, which opened in 2004. You will then be driven to the airport in time for your international flight home.
